Louise Wallwein grew up in the care of nuns from the age of 9. GLUE is a frank and gripping true story of her meeting her birth mother, three decades after being put up for adoption. The world as she knew it is was turned upside down, and this is how she learnt to fight.
Born, transferred, placed, discharged, returned. What can we learn from a life in care?
Celebrating her first performance in 15 years, GLUE is a comedic live art performance fuelled by rhythmic poetry, touring Nationwide this Autumn 2017 and Spring 2018.
“Wallwein is a fine performer… She is fierce, funny, self-deprecating, warm, tough and sometimes very small indeed, showing her vulnerability.”
Ailís Ní Ríain - Playwright
“The writing, which was the core, was top notch, weaving from conversational script to poetry to storytelling & back again. Beautiful, complex, strong work.”
Michelle Green - Writer
“Privileged to experience such an engaging, poetic & heartfelt piece'
“The performance, mixing monologue, performance poetry, dialogue, & interloping factual information was impressive, riveting”.
